A focus on community
When we started working with Mortgage Light, their overarching message was clear; ‘We’re Here to Help’, something we related to as a fellow small business. This underpins almost all our PR activity for the mortgage and protection broker, which is predominantly focused on outreach to and supporting the local Milton Keynes community.
Objective: To further establish Mortgage Light as a community-focused, added-value business by providing the local community with added value content and advice regarding an issue which is rife in Milton Keynes; unemployment.
Working in conjunction with a local recruitment agency, we organised and chaired a Job Search webinar which discussed and explored the current employment climate and provided expert advice on how to go about job applications and interviews to set yourself apart. The panellists included a speaker from EAC consulting and Siobhan Holbrook, the founder of Mortgage Light.
Through a range of promotional techniques, including via the local Job Centre’s channels, the event garnered 28 registrations of which 16 people attended the event on the day.
The event also generated media coverage in the Bucks Herald, a well-regarded local publication which shared Mortgage Light’s ‘Here to Help’ ethos and directed readers to a recording of the event hosted on Mortgage Light’s website.
Alongside local campaigns and event organisation, we’re on hand to help with whatever is required based on Mortgage Light’s wider business objectives. Our work is diverse and that’s what we love about working on this account. Whether it’s securing coverage of expert comment in Metro, writing fresh website copy or building following on Mortgage Light’s Facebook – which increased by 200 people in December alone due to a Christmas giveaway competition that reached around 12,000 people and generated 2,005 engagements – we create and implement flexible and targeted PR strategies, which generate results.
