Things are moo-ving forward at PHM!

The international public art event CowParade is coming to Surrey, and we jumped (over the moon!) at the opportunity to get involved in aid of one our favourite charities – Challengers.

CowParade will see dozens of brightly-coloured, life-sized cows placed in locations throughout Surrey from the end of May to September, after which they will be auctioned off for charity. We hope to have our grazing cow placed just behind the Yvonne Arnaud theatre, next to the River Wey; this location, close to our headquarters, and where lots of people gather in the summer for picnics and lunch breaks from the office, already has the seal of approval from our office dog Harry who loves walking here. We are looking forward to the great exposure that we hope our cow will receive.

Based in Guildford, we’re a long-standing supporter of Challengers and we’ve commissioned Ockham artist Colette Clegg to come up with an inspiring property-themed design for the cow. Colette grew up on a farm in Ireland, immersed in nature and surrounded by animals so she is ideally suited to the challenge of moving her artwork from canvas to fibreglass cowhide!

Nikki Ackerley, managing director of PHM, said: “We have supported Challengers for a number of years and we believe CowParade is a great way of raising even more money for the charity – plus it’s a lot more fun than just writing a cheque!

“We’ve joined forces with Colette and are looking forward to seeing her design – all I can say at the moment is that it will reflect our property roots and also our love of the town in which we – and Challengers – are based.”

We will be documenting the journey of our as-yet-unnamed cow from conception to auction, so make sure you stay tuned to our Facebook and twitter for udderly exciting updates!
