It costs around £45,000 to upgrade a second-hand home to the same standard as a new build, according to research from the Home Builders Federation, so second steppers wanting to spend their money wisely should look no further than the new high-specification, four-bedroom houses at Woodbridge in Frimley which are now available with Help to Buy, meaning a deposit of only £24,750 is required – much less than what is needed to refurbish a second-hand home.
