‘Glorious Guildford’ to trot at the Surrey County Show
CowParade is one of the world’s most popular public art events, so when we ‘herd’ it was coming to Surrey, we jumped on board to take up the chance to sponsor a cow in support of one of our favourite charities – Challengers.
Did you see our time-lapse video of Colette Clegg decorating Glorious Guildford on our social media? If you missed it you can watch the video here.
Now that the decoration of Glorious Guildford is complete, you’ll be able to make your introductions at the Surrey County Show this upcoming Bank Holiday Monday, 30th May. The annual Surrey County Show is a family day out that combines entertainment, award-winning livestock and horses (not all decorated unfortunately!), local food and crafts, games and competitions, and much more. The show is held at Stoke Park, just outside Guildford town centre, so try you make it down for a fantastic family day out and your chance to meet Glorious Guildford! Nikki and Harriet from the PHM team will be in attendance also, sizing up the competition no doubt. You can buy tickets here.
After the Surrey County Show, the cows will be mooved to various locations throughout Guildford – Glorious Guildford will be lucky enough to spend her summer enjoying the beautifully landscaped gardens of the Guildford Castle Grounds, and hopefully acting as a point of conversation for the many tourists and local residents who enjoy spending time here.
Glorious Guildford will remain at the Guildford Castle Grounds until the end of August when the cows will be gathered up for their final public appearance at the Surrey Hills Food, Drink & Music Festival at Coverwood Farm on September 3rd, after which they will go to auction.
