World TV Day: 21st November

From airing live sporting events and entertainment to providing us with educational and cultural content like documentaries, TV is the cornerstone of democracy and a pillar of freedom of expression and cultural diversity. Believe it or not, it has its own day of celebration, World TV Day, which this year lands on 21st November.

Nothing beats coming home after a long day at work and putting your feet up on the sofa in front of the television and none more so than at Christmas* with the family.

*We can talk about Christmas since one of the most highly anticipated TV moments of the year has now officially graced our screens – the John Lewis Christmas advert!

When it comes to ‘family time’ in Britain, some may think dinner time is when families are most likely to bond but in actual fact it’s in front of the box where families are most likely to unwind. According to Mintel, over three in five (62%) parents say that watching TV together as a family is relaxing and almost half (47%) of mums say watching TV brings their whole family together.

Therefore, when choosing a new home, there can be a lot of pressure to find a property with the ideal living space with enough room for all the family to come together. Rather than open-plan living, the living room is making a comeback.

Happy New Year from the PHM team!

We hope you all had a restful Christmas break! The whole team here had a fantastic time with family and friends – some even managing to escape for some winter sun in warmer climates such as Australia and Borneo – the lucky things!

However, we are all very much looking forward to what the 2016 will bring, especially as we have a host of new clients; we start the year welcoming Lendlease, Fetcham Park, Drawing and Talking and Chantries.

Lendlease is a multinational property and infrastructure company delivering state the art buildings and infrastructure, alongside creating vibrant residential communities, workplaces and retail destinations and we are pleased to be assisting them with a host of awards for 2016, which includes both corporate and development specific entries.

We’re also very excited to be working with Fetcham Park, an award-winning wedding venue in Leatherhead, Surrey – as although not typical of our usual clientele it’s still very much property-related, especially with the PR work they’d like us to do to help promote the elegant and modern, refurbished offices in the Grade II* listed house.

Drawing and Talking, is a safe and therapeutic method of working with children who have underlying emotional difficulties and is an interesting and worthwhile project for us all to get stuck into and help promote.

Last but certainly not least, Chantries, an independent estate agent in Guildford is passionate about selling the finest properties in Guildford, Surrey and the surrounding area and we’re looking forward to helping this fantastic local team with our PR knowledge.

If that isn’t enough, we also can’t wait to show you our new website which is currently under construction!

We hope your first week back has been nice and busy too, but if it hasn’t and you’re looking to implement a new streamlined PR strategy than why not get in touch with us today on 01483 561119.
