Evening Standard Awards

PHM’s clients scoop five awards at the London Evening Standard New Homes Awards

The London Evening Standard New Homes Awards is always a highlight in the calendar for property industry professionals, and last Friday’s awards ceremony did not disappoint. Property House Marketing celebrated two award wins as well as three highly commended accolades, for the entries we wrote and designed on behalf of our clients back in February.

The New Homes Awards are now in their 26th year and recognise a range of new homes across the property spectrum – from first-time buyer apartments to one-off luxury mansions, and high-rise developments in city centres to countryside conversions. What makes this competition different is that the entries are decided by a panel of property experts with the help of Evening Standard readers with recent buying experience.

The ceremony was introduced by the paper’s new editor George Osborne and hosted by comedian Romesh Ranganathan. There were 13 prizes announced, with PHM’s clients receiving recognition for the following projects:

  • St Joseph’s Gate (The Chapel) by Berkeley Oxford & Chiltern won ‘Best Conversion’ as well as highly commended in the ‘Best Luxury Home’ category
  • Abell & Cleland by Berkeley Central London won ‘Best Luxury Home’
  • Woodberry Down by Berkeley North East London was highly commended for ‘Best Regeneration Project’
  • Fitzroy Gate by St James was highly commended for ‘Best London Home’

If you’ve recently completed a development or project of which you are particularly proud, now is the opportune moment to speak to us about a submission into the What House? Awards as the deadline is just weeks away.

If you’re still undecided as to whether you should be entering your developments or projects for awards this year, read our blog explaining the three reasons why awards are a valuable addition to your marketing strategy.

Terrific townhouses now available at Trinity Walk, Woolwich

A range of contemporary three-bedroom townhouses, located just a mile from the future Crossrail station in Woolwich, is now available for sale at Trinity Walk by Lovell Homes. This milestone follows on from the successful off-plan launch of the apartments earlier this year with over 65% homes in the first two buildings released already sold; many through London Help to Buy.

Trinity Walk is the first phase of a £400 million Trinity Woolwich regeneration scheme being created by development partners Lovell, asra Housing Group and The Royal Borough of Greenwich. Three ageing housing estates are being transformed into a desirable place for city living.

Jonathan Goring, managing director at Lovell Homes, said: “It’s an exciting time to be building new homes in Woolwich. The development is shaping up at such a pace that we’re opening our first showhome later this month which will enable homebuyers to see first-hand the spacious rooms and high specification a home at Trinity Walk will include. Previously, our Virtual Reality (VR) ‘immersive dome’ has been instrumental in helping potential purchasers envision the new homes.

“The technology enables homebuyers the chance to ‘walk’ around the apartments while viewing different specification options, and will continue to do so when the showhome is launched.”

The development comprises one, two and three-bedroom apartments and a collection of three and four-bedroom townhouses, a selection will be wheelchair adapted; all completed to the same high-quality specification.

The ongoing regeneration in Woolwich has already led to the delivery of new green areas, office space and amenities. The arrival of Crossrail in 2018 will provide quicker journeys into the centre of London; with 12 train services an hour, passengers from Woolwich will be able to reach Canary Wharf in eight minutes, Liverpool Street in 14 minutes and Bond Street in just 22 minutes.

Prices start from £650,000 for a three-bedroom townhouse. The one and two-bedroom apartments are priced from £320,000. To experience the in

novative Virtual Reality show apartments, visit Lovell Homes’ sales and marketing suite off Brookhill Road (SE18 6UU), which is open seven days a week from 10am – 5pm. Customers can bring Trinity Walk to life on their mobile or tablet by downloading the Augmented Reality (AR) app on www.trinitywalk-woolwich.com.

For all sales enquiries, please call Lovell Homes on 0203 247 4762.

Making commuting interesting…

Did you know, according to figures by Transport for London*, passenger numbers on the Tube reach up to 1.34 billion each year?! Now temperatures in the city are rising, it might be the perfect time to switch up the dreaded commute and opt for a breezier and less busy route to work…

Trinity Walk by Lovell Homes is situated in Woolwich, South East London which means you can fly to work via the Emirates Air Line, which provides a cable car link across the River Thames between the Greenwich Peninsula and the Royal Victoria Docks. This quirky mode of transport is operated by Transport for London and the duration of a single crossing is reduced to just five minutes in rush hour. If you’re afraid of heights, why not take the River Bus Express, which operates from 20 piers between Putney and Woolwich, and now you can even use contactless or Oyster cards to pay.

The homes at Chiswick Gate, which are available through Shared Ownership with Thames Valley Housing, are conveniently located to give residents access to a wide number of cycle paths in and around Chiswick. These paths provide residents with an alternative and active route to work, and is also both economical and environmentally friendly, plus you can ride by Chiswick House and Gardens for a more scenic route.

Across London in the heart of historic Westminster, Abell & Cleland by Berkeley Homes is perfectly placed to make the most of the Cycle Superhighway, which runs from Westminster to Wandsworth. Cycling to work means you can enjoy a breezier and speedier commute, but for those who like to travel in style a helipad based on the South Bank in Battersea is within easy reach of the development, meaning you can take to the skies to avoid traffic.

PHM secures extensive coverage in this week’s commuter titles

We’ve seen copious coverage in this week’s commuter titles, with clients featuring in Metro Property and its additional Crossrail special, as well as Wednesday’s London Evening Standard.

Prime Place, Kensal Rise was the focus of a double page Hard Hat feature in the Metro. Wittily titled ‘This place is in its prime’, the article detailed the development’s progress: “When it is complete, Prime Place has been designed to blend in to the period housing in the surrounding streets”.

In an additional Crossrail special on Thursday, the Metro looked at how Crossrail, the biggest construction project in Europe, is set to bring the Home Counties and suburban Essex within direct reach of Central London:

The Shared Ownership homes at East City Point in Canning Town, available to buy through Latimer Homes, was featured not once, but twice due to its desirable location. When Crossrail arrives in 2019 it will benefit residents with a journey time of “10 minutes to Liverpool Street” from Canning Town. One article stated “The Zone 3 homes are well located for professionals working in the city.”

A huge regeneration project in Woolwich also featured twice as part of the supplement, Andrea said: “Trinity Walk is a collection of one, two and three-bedroom apartments and townhouses by Lovell Homes, a mile from the new Crossrail station in Woolwich. When Crossrail opens in 2018, Canary Wharf will be eight minutes away and Bond Street 22 minutes.”

In Wednesday’s Evening Standard we saw the result of a successful pitch for a spotlight feature on Ham, near Richmond, where Berkeley Homes has recently launched Richmond Chase. Journalist Anthea Masey writes: “The Village of Ham and its neighbour Petersham, are tucked into a great, sweeping curve on the south side of the Thames. Surrounded by green space this slice of south-west London offers a semi-rural feel that families love.”
