Site Connect by Countrywide Telecoms

Countrywide Telecoms appointed by Taylor Wimpey to launch ‘mission critical’ broadband services across UK construction sites

Our client, Countrywide Telecoms, provider of specialist communication services to the UK construction industry, has been appointed as a strategic partner by Taylor Wimpey, one of the country’s largest residential developers, to deliver high-speed broadband services to its sites and sales offices.

Site Connect, Countrywide Telecoms’ internet connection solution for construction sites, provides the vital communication links required by developers from the moment building starts and throughout the sales cycle. The technology will be deployed to Taylor Wimpey developments this year, as well as to onsite sales offices and marketing suites.

Andy Feldon, IT Director at Taylor Wimpey, said: “Even with all the technological advances we’ve seen over the past few decades, the fundamental issue the industry has struggled with since the 1990s is connectivity on construction sites before a full IT infrastructure is in place. High speed broadband and an efficient communication system is mission critical, and we look forward to seeing Site Connect rolled out across Taylor Wimpey’s developments.”

Site Connect makes use of the latest advancements in technology to provide secure, rapid internet access wherever installed. Where traditional fixed line providers can take weeks and often months to set up a working service, Countrywide Telecoms delivers full connectivity within a matter of days.

PJ Farr, Founder and Managing Director of Countrywide Telecoms, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Taylor Wimpey, and are excited by the opportunity that this partnership presents to grow our business. Countrywide Telecoms is now providing connectivity solutions to some of the UK’s leading construction companies, but as we continue to grow we will maintain the ‘hands on’ approach that we have always taken, allowing us to act promptly to provide a secure and reliable network.

“Construction professionals need fast and reliable connectivity as soon as work begins onsite; Site Connect delivers this. The practicality of our product also ensures that when it’s no longer required, it can be simply picked up and reused in another location, making it a financially viable solution too.”

Our client, Pelican Media launches industry-first voice control upgrade

Leading property marketing technology company, Pelican Media is preparing to launch the industry’s first voice control software across its range of marketing and sales apps, which enhances the homebuying experience for purchasers.

Pelican’s voice control upgrade will be applied across PelicanBASE, PelicanPRO and PelicanELITE. Sales consultants using these apps will be able to speak to the devices they use in the marketing suite, issuing instructions and making requests in order to, for example, bring up floorplans, CGIs and comparisons between properties instantly.

The voice control software will work across all available devices and the required information can appear on multiple screens as well as controlling the architectural model and lighting up the relevant properties.

Tony Nicol, managing director at Pelican Media, explains: “We’ve had virtual assistants on our smartphones for some time, and now with products like Amazon Echo, voice-activated technology is entering our homes. At Pelican, we keep at the forefront of changing consumer technologies, and believe that simplicity is the key to a great app. With this in mind, we believe that voice control is a natural upgrade for our existing marketing apps, creating a forward-thinking buying experience for purchasers.”

Pelican’s voice control upgrade will be available in the spring. This advancement in technology is the company’s newest innovation for 2017, which closely follows the launch of its latest app, PelicanGO. The technology has already been adopted by a number of developers and enables buyers to access regular construction updates for their property through push notifications as well as allowing them to view images, floor plans and dimensions of their new home on their smartphone.

Forget stocking fillers, it’s all about filling shoe boxes

We wanted to spread some festive cheer and found that the Rotary International Shoebox Scheme was a great way to get involved in a worthy cause this Christmas.

The ‘shoebox’ style boxes arrived at the office earlier this month and were soon filled to the brim with toys, treats, clothes and household items for families across Eastern Europe, by PHM’s team as well as friends, relatives and colleagues.

Since the scheme launched in 1994, the Rotary has distributed over one million boxes, putting smiles on over one million faces!

Next year we are planning to fill 50 boxes, if you’d like to take part in this wonderful cause with us please email info@housegroup.co.uk and if you’d like to know any more or order your own boxes head to its website: www.rotaryshoebox.org/order-boxes/

The winter edition of 9fi5th was published this month, and two of our clients were included in detailed features across five pages of the magazine. The glossy publication keeps readers in Miami, New York, London and Arabia up to date on luxury property worldwide.

Abell and Cleland, the prestigious luxury development by Berkeley Homes in the heart of Westminster, decorated a span of three pages in the magazine. Describing the development as “luxury set in stone,” 9fi5th comments, “The vibrancy and diversity of the city is on your doorstep, with all the conveniences that you can expect from living in prime central London. Coming from a company that really know their stuff, residents are guaranteed a building that celebrates the history of the city with all the trappings of modern luxury.”

Also featured in the winter edition was British LED luminaire experts, Ecoled, who are “lighting up the industry”. Fore fronting Ecoled as pioneers in its field, 9fit5th said, “Ecoled produce the most efficient, small LED light fittings in the industry. Modular and assembled to order, these lights are created to spec, ensuring customers are able to design exactly the kind of light they are looking for”.

With averages of 1 in 3 awards shortlisted winning a top prize, it’s no wonder we’re renowned for our award writing.
